Little Creatures Pale Ale Clone

Ingredients:

  1. Make as per kit instructions
  2. Steep 1 x Cascade Hops bag for roughly ten minutes. You do this by boiling the water and letting it stand for the required time.
  3. Add this mixture to the fermenter.
  4. After around 72 hours add the second hops bag dry to the fermenter. This will require you to open the lid and reclose it. Please ensure you do this in a dusty/dirt free environment to limit and bacteria that may settle in the brew. If you are fast about it and only slightly open the lid you should be fine.


On step 4 I've open brews up plenty of times without an issue. Provided you do this whilst it is still fermenting the gases produced by the fermentation should form a protective barrier and limit any possible infection. That said, infection is a problem so ensure things are sterile and as clean an environment as possibly before cracking that seal.
